1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup Peanut Butter Chips
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
granulated sugar
1 bag (9 oz) Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped
Heat oven to 350°F. In saucepan over low heat, place butter and peanut butter chips; heat, stirring constantly, until melted. Pour mixture into large mixer bowl; add brown sugar, egg, and vanilla, beating until well blended. Stir in flour, baking soda, and nuts, blending well.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; placed on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Immediately place unwrapped chocolate piece on top of each cookie, pressing down so cookie cracks around edges. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. About 4 dozen cookies.

My balls must be too big when I make these cookies because I rarely get 4 dozen out of one batch so I always double the recipe.
As noted earlier, these cookies are ALMOST like the ones Grandma Sprong makes. The recipe is from the Hershey's Homemade cookbook.
This recipe sure sounds delicious, but when I read the list of ingredients I just laughed out loud.
1 bag (9 oz) Hershey's Kisses, (UNWRAPPED)???
Which family member would actually make this recipe and include the foil on top of the cookie?
