1 lb. ground beef
about 4 stalks celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
egg noodles
1 can tomato soup
1 can chopped or stewed tomatoes, including liquid
Brown the ground beef with salt and pepper. In the meantime, put celery, onion, green pepper, and 2-3 handfuls of egg noodles in as little water as necessary (about 1 cup) to boil for 4 minutes.
After pouring off any water that may remain, put the mixture into an oven-safe pan with lid. Add the tomato soup and chopped or stewed tomatoes; stir and cover. Place in 350° F oven for one hour.

Tim, Margaret and I had Slum Gum last night - I substituted w/ground turkey and 2 cans of tomato sauce. It was great! I haven't had it since Leah made it for Margaret and I when I went to Chicago in the 90's!
