On Sunday Kayleigh turned four months old, and she decided to celebrate by getting off her back. Within two minutes she must have rolled from her back onto her stomach at least four times! And completely delighted about it too. Today the bloom had worn off the rose a bit and she tended to get exasperated about all the neat things she saw from her new vantage point but couldn't get to. I have no doubt that within a few short months, she *will* be getting them!
She also discovered this morning that she too can bang on the keyboard just like Mommy and had both hands going at once. It makes it difficult to read a news article when she keeps hitting keys like PageUp and PageDown. I managed to calm her down by bringing up iTunes and putting on the visual effects--gave her a little baby trip for a few minutes
I am getting some great laughs out of her. She particularly likes it when I stick my nose in her ear and kiss her neck. Of course, her brother also makes her smile and laugh too. Sometimes just looking at Jonathan makes her giggle! Same as with her dad, who produced her first-ever laugh (just as he did for Jonathan). She is such a delight, and I am so very tickled to be lucky enough to be her mommy.
Tonight Jennifer came to stay with Jonathan while I went to Back-to-School Night. When I got back home, we gave Kayleigh a sponge bath and then I fixed dinner for the two of us while we chatted. Little Kayleigh was a sleepy girl and was all cuddled up with her head on my shoulder, but boy was she noisy! Not upset, just loud . . . then I realized that she had started making the same sound over and over, one she's made before that is a really sweet sound, and getting quieter and quieter at the same time. Then, silence and stillness! I peeked at her face, and sure enough, she had just sung herself to sleep. What a clever girl.
