Dale is *slowly* starting to feel better—he had a proper breakfast this morning for the first time in over a week, but he’s awfully fatigued and congested. I, on the other hand, am greatly improved and would say I’m about 90-95% my normal self. Good thing, since in 10 minutes I’m leaving to take Jonathan to the after-hours clinic. Fingers crossed, everyone! I *do not* want him to get the flu; he should never have to feel like I did. What a bummer for him too to get sick on his spring break. We’re going b/c he had a fever last night—went from 99.8 to 100.6 in less than an hour, but then it did go back down and was back at 99.8 this morning. He had 3 pancakes for breakfast . . . we’re hoping he’s not getting it. Please, don’t let him get sick too! He had to miss out on morning cuddles in bed with Joy & Brian today in case he has the flu.
Posted by elizabeth at March 13, 2005 09:02 AMIt is an absolute bummer to be sick anytime but especially on spring break. Sending all my good thought waves your way in hopes the fever did not mean he had the flu.
Posted by: Cynthia on March 13, 2005 11:33 AMGood news--the flu swab turned up negative, so he doesn't have the flu. What a relief! He still has a low-grade fever, about 100.6, so he'll be taking it easy the rest of the day.

Posted by: Kathleen on March 14, 2005 12:40 PMI am so glad Jonathan has no flu. That would be very crappy for his spring break, pun intended.
Your entry reminded me of something I forgot to add to the Christmas memories I sent to you earlier. When I was about 9 or 10, I got the measles the day that began my Christmas break. Which meant that I had the measles on Christmas, my birthday and New Years and got better in time to go back to school without missing even one day. I was so bummed that year.
