Dear Kathleen, I hope you have a very happy birthday even if you are travelling. Did you have a good time playing with the new little grandchild? (I bet it will be hard for John to leave Colorado come Sunday.) Jonathan will try to sing you the birthday song this evening (if I remember, of course). Well, in spite of having to spend your birthday on an airplane, many happy returns! xoxoxoxoxoxox
Posted by elizabeth at April 8, 2004 12:07 PMYou know what's funny? Sad but true, but my mom will probably never read all of our birthday efforts via internet until 3 months later. She is sooo not in the 21st century. I can't believe she's my mother sometimes. j/k :)
Posted by: Courtney on April 8, 2004 02:59 PMWhen it comes to receiving my birthday wishes, I'll go beyond the 21st century. And, yes, Ellie is so cute! John and I accompanied Shanea and Nate when she went for you one-month check-up. She weighed in at 5 lbs 13 oz!. One night, Shanea was having a particularly difficult night getting Ellie to go to sleep. So, I offered to take care of Ellie so Shanea could get some much-needed rest. Within a few minutes of sitting with her in the rocking chair and stroking her forehead in the old Karl tickle, she was sound asleep. I held her and rocked he for one whole hour and she slept the entire time. It was so sweet.
