Free as a Bird…Almost

5 days until Spring Break. 1 project. 2 tests. 1 quiz. One of the hardest weeks ever, but that’s okay, I’ll get through it, and be able to enjoy my Spring Break.

I’m going to just chill and Houston, and then go to Dallas. In Houston, I’m just gonna chill with my family and friends. I think I’m gonna spend the night one time with Hannah and Rachel. That should be lots of fun. I also plan on thrift store shopping. :) In Dallas, I’m seeing a bunch of my old friends from church. About 7 of us I think. It’s a road trip if that explains anything, but this isn’t just any road trip. We’re getting a free limo ride AND police escort. What the heck!? This is going to be freakin’ awesome. Also, we’re going to visit Sambuca Jazz Cafe, supposively some AMAZING restaurant with live jazz every day. I’m just so excited.

I might also see Kari and Andy and chill with them for a day or so…it all depends on their plans. (hint hint)

I just can’t wait till this week is over, but it’s gonna be hard to get through it.

Today was wonderful, mostly due to my mom coming to visit me and getting a scarf from my mom that was made from the BEST GODMOTHER IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. (Thanks Rita :)). (and you’re not just the best because you made me a scarf. )

Well, studying is calling me, and one more week, and I’ll be free as a bird.

Fly away. Fly away.

Pretty Depressing Entry about School

How anyone can like school so much is beyond me?

Back in the day, I loved to learn. I still do, but the thing that’s missing is the time to appreciate it. It’s just not enjoyable anymore. I mean, let’s get real. Who can say that they enjoy waking up early to study all day without any gratification at all for your efforts? My only break today was to eat some soup, and that took about 10 minutes. So, I guess you can say I’ve been studying from 8am-the present. But then I’ll keep studying after that. Around 2 or 3 in the morning.

I would be fine with that if I was behind, but I have already read all 7 chapters, but when there’s just so much material, and only 30 question (multiple choice), when you know that the most detailed, obscure information is going to be on it, what are you really to do?

Study is the only answer I’ve been able to come up with. Oh yea, and wonder where all this, day in and day out is really taking you.

Oops. wasted 5 minutes. I shouldn’t have done that.

Have a great day.

Spring Break Conclusion

Sitting here on a Sunday, my last day of Spring Break, wrapping up what I have done in this one entry. (It was requested of me).

Friday: After 2 of the hardest tests I have taken in college, I was just so tired and exhausted I wanted to sleep. (got only 2.5 hours the night before; 2:30 am-5am). So that’s what I did. But before that, I planned my day. Bryan Faul, a really good/sweet/awesome friend, wanted to go out to dinner. So, I was down with that. We had a limited amount of choices since both of us were Catholic, and it was a Friday (read: no meat!). Rather IHOP or Red Lobster. We went for IHOP. I took a
“2 hour nap” which turned into about 2.5. I usually don’t sleep hard, but with that nap, I most definitely did. Then, we just went driving around. (I love having friends that you can just do that with—-needing nothing but their companionship). We went back to my dorm and watched a movie or something. Lot’s of talking, I know.

Saturday: Packed and met my mom and John at Chappel Hill for lunch. It was good…lot’s of fun. Went out to dinner with my family and Annie.

Sunday: Swam for 2 hours, went to Baskin Robbins with Fried Rice (and he MADE me get icecream, even though I didn’t want any) , went to church

Monday: Ran some, went to the mall and bought things. (if you know me, I DON’T ever buy anything for myself.) This was totally a first. I got a wallet and two perfumes. (i was running out). I ate lunch at Panera Bread, which was also fun. I love being able to have lunch with myself sometimes. mmmm…independence. Also, I went to Value Village, and I got a really cute shirt and a pair of shorts. I can’t wait for summer to get here!

Then, at 5:30, went over to Fried Rice’s house to start our bike riding at Cullen Park…

That didn’t happen quite. Jenna didn’t show up at all, and we had to get lots of supplies (like bike helmet, light, air for the tires, etc..) all at different places around Katy. It was a huge ordeal. I was getting a little mad…I was expecting us to just fill up the tires and then go. That didn’t happen though. We wasted 3 hours around. So, Fried Rice (after we gets all his stuff) calls a friend of his, who is on house arrest, and sees if we can ride in his neighborhood. So that’s what we end up doing.

about 4 hours later, we finally ride bikes…IN A NEIGHBORHOOD.

It was such an adventure though.

Tuesday: Went running at Memorial Park, ate at Ninfa’s, and watched “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Jim. Good day.

Wednesday: Slept in :). Went to Salvation Army and Value Village for 50% off day. Ran some. Saw Million Dollar Baby with my mom at 7:30 pm. VERY RECOMMENDED.

Thursday: Most planned out day! Space Center Houston, Kemah Boardwalk, and Surfside with Andy and Kari. I had a lot of fun with them, especially the ‘Engineer It!’ exhibit at NASA. Her mom made us ravioli when we got back. DELICIOUS. Driving in the HOV lane was a little scary, as well as crossing 6 lanes of traffic. Oh how I miss Houston.

Friday: Watched basketball….duh. Went to dinner with my family and had crawfish.

Saturday: went to Brandon’s house to play. I did just that. I saw Rachel and Hannah, and I made Rachel go swimming with me. That girl is so incredibly lazy.

Sunday: drove home

THE END

Wedding

So I went to a wedding this weekend, the Saturday of Easter weekend. It was for Jeremy Hajovsky, Jeff and Cara Hajovsky’s sibling. I have known them since I was 8 years old, and although we grew apart, we have remained family friends. It means alot to be invited to the wedding.

Anyways, so it was a small wedding (about 150-200 people), and I begun thinking how I would want one…because basically, the bride’s family has to pay. And c’mon…I’m really frugal and like to think, practical.

Well, this may shock people, but here we go:

Small wedding (cheaper that way)

Bride and groom dance: “Greatest Story Ever Told”-Oliver James

Make it fun.

Go out on the dress, vail, BUT not flowers. If I had my choice, I wouldn’t have any flowers. They’re gonna die in a day, so why get them? You have to have a bouquet though.

Maybe 1 or 2 bridesmaids. None of that 10 business going on.

Make sure there are lots of little kids. Like ring bearer. Flower girl. Junior flower girl. Kids are the best.

The most expensive thing should be the travelling for the honeymoon. Maybe some awesome island/cruise/outdoors thing…like skydiving. Dude, I would totally go for anything, but as long it’s fun and memorable :)

Let’s see. What else? That’s all that comes to mind now.

I wonder what I’ll actually feel like when I’m engaged and planning a wedding. I hope I’m the same way, and I actually suspect I will be.

Anyways, here’s a pic of the wedding:

I think this exactly what I needed. It helped me stay excited about my major and what I’m exactly going to do.

YAY!

The track is called nanobiology and tissue engineering. I’ll be able to help burn victims. Cool.
