Smiles and Deadlines

Yup. That’s right. The third week of school is upon us, and that usually means that you know the semester is going to be like. This is a good semester it seems because of the classes (and lack of) that I’m taking. 2 math classes, 1 science, and 1 engineering. The lab classes are what take up most of the time, but I’m taking that in the summer. Yea, everybody, I’m staying in College Station for the summer. Who knows what this “opportunity” will hold? Probably lots of studying and maybe an assistant research position. I’m going to start contacting professors next week.

Some of this freed up time has been reallocated to my love, swimming. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I had time. Now, I wake up early, do school work all day, and then take a “break” to swim 2 miles plus some. I have a smile on my face afterwards. I don’t know what I’m going to do when swimming is going to be sacrificed for studying. :( On Tuesday, I swam 4200m, and it was awesome!

Sometimes in college, it’s easy to forget that life is more than studying, cram sessions, deadlines, etc…, and I think that’s sad. There’s no room to breath, but you have to make time for yourself, even 10 minutes, like even when you’re in the shower, but this is a neccesity. Smiling, laughing, and having fun is the true essence of life. Too bad, there is never enough time to do everything.

I think I’m going home on Saturday for various reason after the girl’s basketball game. Then, I’ll be back on Sunday for Super Bowl Sunday!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and remembers to smile just once.

:)

P.S. I like pictures, as you can all tell, so here’s a picture of me and a couple of peeps on Friday night.

Simplicity

Ooooo oooooo ohoohohoo
Ooooo ohooohoo oooohoo
Ooooo ohoohooo oohoooo
Oohooo oohoooho ooooho
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby ii ii iii
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true ooh ooooh

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me ee ee eeh
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top thats where you’ll find me oh
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dream that you dare to,why, oh why can’t I? i iiii

Well I see trees of green and
Red roses too,
I’ll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Well I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day
I like the dark and I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands
Singing, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying, I…I love you
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow,
They’ll learn much more
Than we’ll know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world (w)oohoorld

Someday I’ll wish upon a star,
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top that’s where you’ll find me
Oh, Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
And the dream that you dare to, why, oh why can’t I? I hiii ?

Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo

What a gorgeous song.

I like college. I hate schoool, but you can’t always get what you want. I think through all of the days that never seem to end, and all you do is work work work AND get no gratification for it, the weekends mean so much more. It would be so much easier if I was paid to do this. Oh well….just more never ending work for the next couple of years :(.

This weekend was rather enjoyable. Friday: I went to Freudian Slip (an improvisational comedy put on by a small league of students), and then saw Team America with Michelle, Megan, and Kyle. It was all enjoyable. Then, because I hadn’t eaten since 4, we all went to Pita Pit. Everyone liked it. Then, we came back and just talked till 2:30 or so.

Saturday: Once I woke up, I went and played 3 hours of basketball with Jonny. It was loads of fun, but boy, afterwards, my glutius maximus es? were sore. That’s what you get when you play full court, pick-up basketball. :)

We just chilled afterwards. Then, a bunch of us, (me, Jonny, Kelly, Michelle, Tiffany, Kyle, Grunny, Michelle (the other one)) all hung out at Jonny’s place. We played darts, listened to music, and talked. It was so fun.

Then, around 1:30 a.m., the plan was to go to IHOP, so that’s what we did.
I didn’t get anything because I wasn’t hungry, but everyone else did. Zach also joined us. What a night :)

Kelly, Jonny, and Me at IHOP at around 3 in the morning.
