Date from January 20th, 2008, 12 pm, from the time I calculated it earlier.
1379 days=33,096 hours=1,985,760 minutes=119,145,600 seconds. And that’s all I’m going to say about the election.
This weekend is going to be fun. Kari and Andy (and 5 of their friends) are coming down for the OU/Texas A&M game. I’m pretty excited about that. Not to mention, that earlier in the week, they told me that instead of just the 2 of them, it was going to be 7 people. I could accommadate 2 people, but definitely not 7. Good thing I have good friends in College Station. I’m “borrowing” my friend’s apartment so that people could have a place to sleep. As a side note, my idea, before I asked one of my friends, I thought about sleeping in a big tent. It would’ve been cool, but I’m glad I have an apartment to use.
I hope everyone has a great week.
God/Allah/Muhammed/no God/It exists, but I don’t believe in one Bless.
The title says it all.
I think I have previously stated that my friends were coming down for the OU/Texas A&M game. Who would know that this weekend could be so fun?
They (Kari, Andy, along with Clark, Clayton, Chris) drove down on Friday and got into College Station at 11:30 p.m. with enough time for them to go to their first Yell Practice. They wanted to experience it firsthand, so I agreed to go with them. (Usually, I have a strong disposition to going because I think they’re dumb, and therefore, don’t go, but this time, I decided to make an exception.) We did that, and some of the feedback I got from them was: “amazing,” “cultish”, “really weird,”etc. I’m glad they enjoyed it. Lots of laughing and lots of fun. :)
After yell practice, we drove to where we were going to stay…Brandon’s apartment. All of us got in, we unpacked, and just started conversing. It was pretty interesting all the people that were there. All of the Sooners were meterology majors but were from all different home states. (Kari-Texas, Andy-Kansas, Clark-Oklahoma, Clayton-Alabama, Chris-West Virginia). Brandon got along with them well too. They were just all cool people. We watched some Family Guy and ended up going to bed at 3 a.m.
I woke up at 9 a.m. to cook breakfast for everyone. :) (It was fun to be a mom for everyone). I went to the grocery store and brought back eggs, bacon, grits, cheese, fruit, orange juice, biscuits. It was awfully fun. I even made Monkey Bread, which I had to call Margaret for the recipe since I forgot it in my dorm room. Thanks. I really enjoyed cooking for all the boys.
After breakfast, we got ready for the game and then left on the bus. The OU kids went and got their own tickets (from Will Call). I grabbed my tickets from my dorm and then met Taryn and Brandon to go into the stadium. We watched the game. It was an awesome one. I took a couple of pictures, which I will post at the bottom. The end score was 42 OU-35 TAMU.
After the game, we met back up with Kari et. al. We WALKED back to Brandon’s apartment (about 2.5 miles). They packed up all their stuff in the car. We then went to Gattitown to eat. YUM YUM YUM. We had an awesome time there too. Like I said…this day was perfect.
After we ate, I said goodbye to alll of them, AND that I was going to go the OU/TAMU game next year and see them. :)
Once they left, Taryn, Brandon, and I went back to Brandon’s apartment to chill. We ended up talking from 9 pm-1am. Lots of laughs once again. And now I’m home and going to bed.
BUT FIRST, PICTURES:

*I had pictures of people at the game, but for some reason it wouldn’t load. I’ll try to put them up later.
It’s Saturday night, and I have declined friend’s offers to go out and have fun so that I can STUDY. What is up with that? Oh yea, two tests on Tuesday. At least my statics test is done, which I might add that I am still injured from that. It ripped off my arms and legs, put it in a blender (with ice, of course), and decided to call it “Courtney Surprise.”
Anyways, on Sunday (tomorrow), I get to go to Austin. I love Austin! Seeing people is always fun. I am missing the basketball game though, which means no making 15 dollars for me. Eh well. Life is about making sacrifices. :)
A week ago, Taryn and I were at Brandon’s house, and we (she) was calling people on Brandon’s phone just cause. She decided to call someone, who went to Katy High School. He called Brandon a “very pretty man,” and for some reason that’s been in my head all this week. Something about that kind of humor makes me laugh.
I hope everyone has a great week, and thank goodness Thanksgiving is so very soon. I’m ready to be done with this semester. But just like that little engine, I’m going to keep puffing.
I left College Station, TX on Wednesday after going to the Trinity vs. TAMU basketball, which we won. The weather was horrible. There were supposed to be 3-4 tornadoes all around the area, so I decided to forgo leaving on Tuesday night. I left around 12:30 pm., planning to get to Brandon’s house for Adam’s surprise birthday party, but it turns out that one of the 3 roads that I take to get home was flooded with water (i.e. Katy Hockley Cutoff). So, I had to backtrack for about 30 minutes. It was okay though; I made it there, and I was happy. The party was at 7 pm, which was a total success. I got home at about 12.
On Turkey Day, I played with my step-niece, Elly (9 months old). She was absolutey precious. We went over to Margaret’s for dinner. Delicious again :). After stuffing ourselves silly, we decided to play Trivial Pursuits (old folks vs. younger folks). It was grand, and I didn’t know that Trivial Pursuit could be so heated. Then again, we ARE the Karls.
On Friday, I didn’t do much the whole day. I watched movies. I watched the UT/TAMU football game. Then, I went out to eat with the entire family at our house to Babin’s, a very delicious seafood restaurant. After that, I went to Red Lobster’s because Osama was there (along with Darren), and we were supposed to hang out. I talked to them as they were eating their endless shrimp. Some other guy showed up. Then, we headed back to Osama’s house. We watched some basketball on TV. We then went to Scotty’s? house to “game.” (playing HALO 2). Normally, I wouldn’t do that, but it was really fun because I all the people there were cool. Not only was I the only girl there, I was most definitely the youngest. There was one guy who graduated in ‘98 and was going to graduate school at Columbia University. Interestingly enough, I didnt feel out of place.
Saturday, I didn’t do much at all. Just a lazy day at the house. I made homemade pizza! (the dough, the sauce. yay)
Sunday, I drove home after going to Palais Royal with my mom. I didn’t want to leave because knowing that the next few weeks would be constant studying just made me depressed. Eh well. I’ll get through it. At 9:30 p.m. tonight I ‘m going to run 9 miles with my friend Kyle. We have to burn off that turkey somehow!
