Lots and Lots of Fun

N.B. This is a post of what I did this weekend.

Friday: I went to my three classes (yuck), I think I took a little nap b/c this week I have been studying like crazy. four test in one week equal no fun, just to let you know. then, I woke up, and I was going to go with one of my friends to a costume party, which I did. But I decided that I didnt have a costume, and I really needed to find/make one in about 2 hours. So, I found one of my other friends, Taryn, and it turns out that she had this shower dress/robe thing and I thought that I would be a “girl who just got out of the shower.” It worked very nicely…in fact, I even got compliments on my originality. SCORE! So, we went to this party/dance thing, and then, we went back to the dorm and chilled for a little bit. Next, we went to Yell practice (ehh…like every friday night), and i ran into beth atteberry and her brother, and we went to yell together. SO..yea, but wait, after yell, jenny and i watched a couple of friends episodes. they were good, then went to bed at about 2 in the morning

Saturday: (long day)

I woke up at about 8:30, and I went straight to the grocery store (HEB), where I got milk, grapefruit juice, nuts, two big things of yogurt (plain and vanilla flavored, b/c i mix them together b/c it’s better and healthier that way), chocolate soy milk, 2 bananas, 1/3 lb of ham, 1/3 lb of roast beef, and 1/3 lb of turkey. I think that’s all that I got. oh yea, I also got raisins. Then, I proceed over to get my hair cut with a coupon for $5.99 haircut and blowdry. Here is the coupon. My hair is the shortest it has been in a while, like I would have to say that it’s at my shoulders, but I little longer. I like it because it is easier to take care of and stuff.

So, I got back from the hair place, and I then I went to the game, which I have to say was really really fun. I loved this game, maybe because we won one. (good job for the aggies sucking) But I also got really sunburned. Yuck…it was sooo hot outside, and I was on the very VERY top deck. It was very crazy. But then after the game, I went back to the dorm, and then I met jenny’s friends and sisters, and we hung out for a while. We then, went to freebirds and shake’s (a custard place in cs), then they left. it was very entertaining. good times we had.

Then, I relaxed for a little bit, which was very much needed. I then went with a friend to go meet another one of her friends to go to this haunted house thing that one of the dorms put on. It was pretty good and funny/scary. yay. Last, we called a corp escort b/c it was like 2 in the morning or so, and i asked him if a girl wanted to run 4 miles, are they allowed to “escort” /run with them? and he said that it would be up to the guy in the guard room, and as long as the escort was willing. SO that’s good news if i want to run at 2 in the morn’. I then went to bed

Sunday:

I went to church with some people, went to eat breakfast with the same people. Then I went and helped someone with violin playing. (i still know how to play, ever since 6th grade). Then, I got a call from Katie to go out to lunch. I did go…i went to cheddar’s and I had tortilla soup, and it only cost me $2.15, but i gave him a very good tip. what a good waiter he was. :) and now, i am in the dorm, wasting a lot of time. which is why i needed to do this because it always seems to get me motivated to do work; very good thing. So, i will be talking to you cats later.

P.S. Finding Nemo comes out on DVD on Tuesday. that’s rather exciting. :) (hint, hint)

Fixing a Wrong Doing

Someone very wise pointed out to me that some of my blog entries make me seem illiterate and uneducated. Because I like to regard myself as somewhat intelligent, this remark motivates me to correct my personal wrong doing. I do know how to spell words, understand the difference between homonyms, know correct grammar, etc… So, as a way to remediate this problem, I will correct and point out my careless mistakes (which I do understand). Even though these corrections are a secondary way of proving what I know, it is the only thing that I can think of.

I would also like to make a special note that all the entries of my posts are very representative of how I would talk to some of my friends on AOL Instant Messenger. I believe that I have associated blogging as the same thing. When I talk online to people, I am not too worried if I misspelled a word or not, for I believe that it is the content that is of importance.

Someone wise have brought to my attention that a blog is more formal than chatting online. Subconsciously, I knew this, but because I associated the physical act of typing what you think with instant messenging, the entries that I publish were not all that “grammatically correct.”

So, here are the corrections for the past 5 entries:

“A Summation of the Weekend’s Events”

“…in my lastest class…” should read “…in my latest class…”

“Starving, Sleeping, and Sleeping”

“…1 o clock in the morning…” should read “1 o’ clock in the morning”

“Life is Such a Box of Chocolates”

“…It peeks my interest…” should read “…It piques my interest…”

“Having No Time, and Wasting Most of It”

“…but overall, I become convival.” should read
“but overall, I become convivial.”

Well, that is all that I am going to do for now. If I see anymore corrections, I will fix them. I apologize for my carelessness,

It’s a Good Ol’ Saturday

It’s Saturday, and I woke up about an hour ago. That really makes me happy. This entry is going to be quasi-short because I have to be somewhere at 12, but that’s okay because at least I blog (clears throat) unlike some other people in our family. I added a pictures part to my page. Even though I only have 8 right now, I will definitely have more by the end of the semester. Trust me on that one.

Friday was a fun one. I watched (and almost finished) “28 days later” w/ my friend Joe. It kept getting delayed b/c we had to ask my suitemate’s boyfriend what was going on in the movie. (it was a little confusing to us for a little while) Then, his girlfriend, Allison, called and said that she was off work and wanted to celebrate her birthday now. It was exciting! So, Joe and I rushed as fast as we could to pick her up. We then proceeded to her house for da party. They had steak and shrimp and birthday cake. She also got Finding Nemo for her b-day, and we watched that movie. It was enjoyable!

And now I am here about to leave. So, I must go, but first I must say that I am very proud for being the girl who has gotten the most comments on one blog. It is 19 right now! (crazy crazy)

p.s. you know those exams that i had a week ago? Well, I got the grades back, and it turns out that I got an A on chem, an A on psych, a B on calculus, an 100 in swimming. 4.0? Almost.

My Pants in France

There once was a man from France
Who had a horrid hole in his pants
He went to change
But off, he rearranged
Sad ,but true, people never gave him a chance

That is a limerick that I wrote a while back this year. I hope you find it funny because I sure know I do. And yes, I know the rhyme scheme doesn’t fit all the way, but it’s not any sort of assignment; and therefore, I don’t have to anal and pedantic about the correct pattern and feet (i.e. of a poem).

Well well. This week has been very lovely. I have been doing lots of hw because I have two exams on Wednesday and a meeting on Tuesday, but by now, I’m used to being crunched for time. I plan on studying this weekend A LOT because we have another psychology test, and I really really want to do well on it because as of now, I don’t have an A in the class, and I think that I should. I mean, I am quite capable of getting a A, but I kind of messed up on the first exam. I blame on it first college test anxiety, and I know that that’s the reason.

I have also spent time with some newly made friends. We go swimming and running together (kind of). But I swear, by Spring Break, we will both be in the best shape of our lives.

I need to get my pictures developed. I have only 3 more pictures on 3 cameras left. (3*3=9) 9 pictures that is. Some of the pictures are from the opening weekend of Ren Fest, some girl in a pretty maroon dress, and other random things. Oh yea, I just remembered that a bunch of camp and project graduation pictures are on the rolls. Wow! That IS really exciting. :) (smile)

I also ate lunch with one of my high school friends today (beth atteberry). We did things in high school with S.O. (science olympiad). I remember having so much fun there. And another wow—our first competition was almost a year ago. It was on November 16, 2002 in Pfleugerville, TX at the local high school. Also, on that Friday (november 15, 2002) was the first time that Brandon came over to my house and we become friends, for real.

It was really funny because we were upstairs and all, and my parents (john and mom) were downstairs watching TV. But Brandon had to go at 10 because I had to wake up at 4:30, and my mom decided that I needed my sleep. But when we went downstairs to leave, my parents were asleep on the couch, and there was porn on the television. And boy, was that a shocker for both of us! Considering that was the first time that Brandon met my family. :) It was just humorous at the time and still is now.)

just to clear things up…what really happened was that my parents were watching HBO, fell asleep, and up came the porn that comes on at that time. Good thing they fell asleep and didn’t turn off the TV. It was grand.

Well, I have a class in 30 mins, and I must prepare for it.

What I Want

Christmas is the best time of year. Most people become more charismatic, people bond together, and the economy profits (expect for all of those consumers). It is cold, which means sweaters, and of course, being with your friends and family. Cute little “white elephant” gift exchanges go on. Fireplaces are always blazing. Houses are illuminated with a brillance that can only be described as wonderful. On the side note, I also turn another year. (it will be 19 years on earth this one). Even though there is so much hussle and bussle going on, the feeling you get is peaceful and as if the world has stood still for just one second. And even though some people don’t believe in the presence of what Christmas is really celebrated for (the birth of Jesus), I know that I do, and I think that every Christmas Eve at my house, I feel the way that the king, the 3 men of orient, the lambs, the sheep, the cows, etc… felt like. Just thinking how magical that is makes me think how ephemeral our lives really are. And in realizing this, I choose to live my life with a plan, integrity, decisiveness, etc. Carpe Diem!

And it’s just weird to think about this Christmas. Where it will be does not really matter (even though it would be nice to have at our house) What matters is who I will be with. My family is dear to me, and I feel proud to say it. I LOVE MY FAMILY!

Back to other stuff. I have two tests tomarrow, which I plan on studying for right after I publish this. Psychology and Engineering. Sounds like a plan, Dan. Another thing. Seeing how this site does partially relate to Christmas, and I know that “santa” reads this site. I will post what I want/need. (more like)

1. TI-89 (need for class)
2. another CD walkman (mine is broken after 4 years)
3. some clothes (preferably sweaters…i think)
4. some more earrings. (studs and 1 hoop)

that’s all that I can think of right now. I don’t have anything that I want. I feel bad for “making” people spend money for me. I see it as sending me to college as a wonderful present. That’s all that I really ask.

Anyways, I have to go study. Courtney

Yea…that’s how it goes

Right now…I am procrastinating. Not doing work is another term for it, but that’s okay because I don’t have any exams this week, and I had 2 last week.

My roommate just said that it’s cold outside, which it is, and that reminds me of fun sweaters. They make me, OH, so happy. Another thing that makes me happy is having fun with people you love. Heck, let me just make a a list, and I’ll see how it turns out.

HAPPY THINGS LIST:

1. Friends and family
2. Snowflakes
3. Water (if you know me you’ll understand)
4. Expressions that kid’s faces make :)
5. Roman architecture
6. Swimming
7. Picking out a calendar for the new year
8. Eating candy
9. Watching the “old school” rerun shows
10. Blacklights
11 .Hot chocolate with marshmallows
12. Random calls from friends when least expecting it
13. Having more time than you thought (and then wasting it by relaxing)
14. Shapes that the clouds make when it’s gorgeous outside
15. watching and blowing those weeds that kind of look like cotton balls. when you blow it, the cotton part detaches, and it is the best to watch. i love it.

well, that’s dandy enough for now. later, gators

I Now Understand…

I think that Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays ever. Last year (and previously), I used to think that Thanksgiving was the stupidest holiday ever. My reason: you go to people’s houses and eat. And I’m not just talking about eating, I’m talking about being gluttonous. But now, I see Thanksgiving in a better light. It’s fun to go home for more than one day and spend time with all your friends (and not just the ones from college). Seeing your family is really great too because seldomly we forget how important and special they really are. I had a great Thanksgiving, and I think it’s because I have grown up a little bit, being “on my own.” Boy, it’s great.

On another note, update time.

Tuesday: Came home with a friend who lives 10 minutes away from me. It was good fun. I stayed at my house and crashed because I was in my comfy bed.

Wednesday: Went out with Kari to the newly updated Memorial City Mall (which now has a skating rink, a fireplace sitting area, and a California Pizza Kitchen). We were planning on going swimming, but it started to lighting when we drove up to Peckham Park, so I just took her home, and we had fun. Good SOONER and AGGIE fun.

Thursday: Went over to the traditional Thanksgiving dinner at Margaret’s house. It was the best one that she has ever made. The menu consisted of Phillo Bacon appetizers, turkey stuffed with apples, bay leaves, and some other seasoning that I’m not sure of. There was also the best stuffing EVER. It had sausage, Hawaiian bread, etc. Yum yum. To top it off, we had pumpkin flan topped with pumpkin praline. Don’t’ forget the Cool whip. DELICIOUS.

Friday: Woke up around 8:30 a.m. to run. That didn’t happen. Instead I woke up and hung around the house a little bit, but then, I drove to College Station, TX because I was going to attend the UT/TAMU game. I left around 10 and got there at around 12. The traffic on HWY 290 was pretty horrendous, but I managed to get there in enough time. After taking about 15 minutes to find a parking space, I went to my dorm to pick up my ticket from one of my friends. They are really crazy, and they painted their body totally maroon with fabric paint. Oh yea, don’t forget the huge wig that they had on. VERY VERY CRAZY STUFF. People were staring at them, and I was laughing because I am not like that at all. I like the Longhorns. I like the Aggies. They are both fairly good schools, and I don’t understand all the rivalry between them, especially the “hatred” that is catalyzed by the Aggies. “We” (TAMU as a school spirit body) thinks that UT thinks that we are a competition. “We” suck as a football team, and at least I know that. And screw that whole 12th man thing. I mean, it’s good and all to support your schools, but sometimes, it is taken to extremes. And sometimes it does work in my favor, seeing how “once an Aggie, always an Aggie” and how I will always have someone helping me out, but it’s really extreme, and it cracks me up.

Anyways, after the game was over, I drove back (bad traffic again). I grabbed something to eat at home, and then I was off to my friend Betti’s house. She goes to Berklee Boston of Music. We went to Starbucks and Walmart. It was very fun, and I loved seeing her again.

Saturday: I am here now. I made a pillow. Hannah visited, and it was fun. Well, I am going to win Spider Solitaire, playing my mom.

I shall be home tomorrow.
