Musical Theories and Itineraries

The past couple days as I was listening to music, I began thinking about an idea/theory. So here it goes:

Usually, when we go through our lives, we listen to music to instill a certain emotion or feeling to represent the state that we are in. For example, if we are happy, we would listen to a song with lyrics representative of jubilance and a melody/beat representative as well. If we are sad, we would listen to a song which we can relate to, maybe for coping purposes. And that’s normal, but something that I have been thinking about is if and when we relisten to these songs (say about 6 months to a year), do these emotions that were attached to listening to these songs, come back because we listen to the songs? OR do we subconsciously listen to these songs because an emotion/feeling is revisited?

Even though it’s a basic cause and effect question, it has puzzled me for a while now.

On A Lighter Note:

Not too much has been happening besides the sometimes banausic routine which I call life. But lately, it’s been fun…well, the weekends are fun. Let’s see now.

Friday: Cured 1/3 of my nostalgia by visiting Mrs. Taryn Brown. We went to some party, and left around 3 o’ clock in the morning. We had a sleepover. :), and it reminded me of when I was a girl in junior high. Good conversation. Then, Andrew came and serenaded us with his guitar playing, and he put me to sleep. It was so peaceful.

Saturday: In the morning, in spite of going to bed at 5, we woke up at 9:30 and were hungry. The 3 of us (me, Taryn, and Andrew) went to Shipley’s donuts. I got the ham/cheese kolache, and I burned myself because I put it in the microwave too long. BOTH Taryn and Andrew laughed at me. I laughed too. Then, I hugged Taryn goodbye, and I was on my way back to College Station. I can’t remember what I did after I got home, but I DO know what I did during the night time.

I went out with Osama, of course. He picked me up in his nice car, which I think smells really good. He asked me what/where we’re going to do/go, and I told him, “I don’t know. Let’s just make an adventure.” He was like, “How ‘bout the Galleria? We can just walk around because it’s really pretty down there.” That put a smile on my face.

It was fun. We adventured (just window shopping) and talking. We went to the Cheescake Factory for a finale. Also, I realize that I like that restaurant a lot. Not only is the food tasty, but the ambiance is so perfect for a sentimental conversation. Osama kept talking about how perfect it would be for a first date. I definitely agree nor would have any objection if anyone wanted to take me there. :)

Sunday: I was lazy, seeing as I slept in and didn’t go to church. (but I went at 5:30 pm). Actually, I went bathing suit shopping for the quest of a 2 piece bathing suit because ALL of my swimwear are Speedo racing/practice suits, and that isn’t very fashionable or gives me the ability to show off my tan (hahaha. j/k). I was in the mall for about 2 hours when I was about to give up. The last store I went to was Burlington Coat Factoryand get this! The bathing suit I found was 8 dollars. NOW that’s CHEAP! (most suits with top and bottom are about $50). *smiles…smiles…smiles…smiles*

In the Future:

I am going to go to Austin this weekend for the Danskin Triathlon to be a swim angel. :) Hopefully, I’ll be able to visit two of my friends while I’m there.

I’m tired now.
